Australians, get ready to do the Satch Boogie. One of the world’s most influential and highly respected guitarists, Joe Satriani, has announced he will return to his Australian fans this November for his first run of headline dates since last landing his extraterrestrial surfboard back in 2008.
The Australasian leg of this consummate musician’s massive world tour comes in support of his fourteenth and most recent studio album, the aptly titled Unstoppable Momentum, and if you’ve ever experienced the power of Joe Satriani behind an axe, you know exactly what we mean.
The tour will kick off with two shows in New Zealand, before Satch travels across Australia for a special five-city tour, kicking off at The Tivoli in Brisbane on 4th November, then traveling down the East Coast for stops in Sydney and Melbourne, before rounding off with dates in Adelaide and Perth.
With him will be his incredible band, consisting of Mike Keneally on keyboards, best known for his time with Frank Zappa and Steve Vai, bass player Bryan Beller of Dethklok and Dweezil Zappa‘s band, and finally drummer Marco Minnemann, who’s played with Adrian Belew and Steve Wilson.
